This is my first post on this brand new blog…..So happy to have finally bought myself a personal dot com domain….In this blog I’ll write about my thoughts, feelings and experiences in life as I go through them….
Also, I have many ideas in my head that I wish I could implement them in the world….But most of the time the ideas just remain as ideas….I’ll most likely write about my ideas here and hopefully someone might think that it is interesting and feasible and implement them or seek a joint venture to implement the idea….
Anyway, on my first post, I would like to share some grouses I have with the new Wordpress version. Currently I’m running the latest version of Wordpress that is version 2.2 and to me, this version is seriously screwed. It has some major bugs that need fixing.
Why do I say so? The dashboard won’t work….You see whenever I try to delete a post from the Manage Posts section on IE7, I’ll get a message saying “You don’t have permission to do that”. This is an extremely annoying message to see since I’m the only user and I have administrative status….
Using FireFox to delete the post don’t fix the job either….It just simply shows that the post had been deleted but in actual fact it has not been deleted.
Annoyed, I did a Google search and as expected, I’m not the only Wordpress user to have this problem. There are several solutions to this error among them editing the .htaccess file….But it’s a lil complicated and confusing for me. I’m too lazy to figure out the steps needed to solve the problem.
Apparently this problem has got to do with some JavaScript problem between Wordpress and browser…..The quick fix to this problem is to simply turn off JavaScript on FireFox whenever I need to delete a post. And certainly doing this solves the problem.
But I can’t just simply turn off JavaScript on my FireFox; so my fix is to just turn it off whenever I need to delete a post.
Anyway, this bug also causes me not to add a new category from the Write Posts page. This sucks big time.
Using Wordpress is supposed to be a breeze without much problem. But argh…..
Anyway, anyone with the know-how to solve this prob, just write it in my comment box….Hope to hear an easy solution to this problem….Cheers!
