Ramblings,
Transportation
Singapore has surely upped the ante on efficient land public transportation. It has recently implemented the real time bus information feedback system in several major bus stops around the country.
Look at the following pixs taken at the Newton MRT bus stop.

When I came Singapore early this year, I was definitely impressed with its efficient public transportation system. However it can certainly be improved. There is one thing missing - that is the real time bus info system like the one shown. Well, now it’s finally implemented. It’s not available at all bus stops yet, only major ones but at least it’s a good start.
Observe the second picture closely and you can see the bus info is jointly provided by the two bus operators in Singapore. The system is implemented by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. JPJ, try opening up your eyes a lilttle bit wider and take a look what those Singaporeans are doing!
And one last joke at the pix. Try searching for bus 700A. When’s the next bus arriving? 73 minutes! And the bus after that? 88 minutes! Hahahahahahaha…big joke! Here you have some technologically-advanced board giving real time bus info, but the maximum waiting time of 15 minutes is far exceeded by nearly 5 times! WTH?
Anyway Malaysia, try beating this! How many more light years away before this can be seen in Malaysia? Well I don’t mind not having this system in Malaysia yet. Just solve the bigger problem of having a punctual bus system first. Then get rid of rude bus drivers. Then please at least have bus information on the bus stops. And try having a super website like the ones in Singapore. They can guide me to my location from point to point. Check out their websites here and here. RapidKL does have a website but their bus routes is in an image file that can be found on their website.
And one final rambling…..Please RapidKL or Metrobus or whatever other bus operators in Klang Valley, how many times must I ask, can you PLEASE provide a bus route from Puchong Jaya to Subang/Sunway area? It’s a freaking 5 minute journey by car using the LDP, but there’s no bus operating this route (except for one operator plying this route every one hour or so?). Even the proposed freaking LRT line extension will not link Puchong with Subang. What’s your problem?
Well NickChan, think RapidPenang is good already? Still a long way to go for Penang, but at least the Government is doing something in the right direction…..
Oh and I’m pretty sure some of the new Rapid buses are disabled friendly too right? Well this is one part where Singapore still needs further improvements. From the bus board, only two of the buses there are disabled-friendly….I can only wonder how I will have to travel around if I’m in a wheelchair……..

Most of you might not understand this….Well it’s intended to be that way. This is a post that probably only Sye Yuet understands….

Sye Yuet, I’ve been doing some design work….not much of a design work here. Just playing around some fonts….What’dya think? The tagline and the font choice? I left 3 different types of fonts here. Well, I kinda like the top two fonts….

Others,
Vandalism
Remember my previous blog post about the vandalism I saw in Singapore. Well, I was at Melaka for my holidays and this is way cooler than the one in Singapore.
Before the vandal pixs, some random building pixs first….In the middle of old shophouses, there’s this one grand building here…..

Now for the vandal pixs proper….Look at the above! Great piece of art work right? Too bad that pick up truck must park there when I need to take a photo….

Pretty stuff….

And the highlight of the piece of graffiti…..This is just plain fabulous!!

Some final part of the vandal…..

Others,
Vandalism
[tag]Singapore[/tag] is spick-and-span. Clean toilets, no [tag]vandalism[/tag] etc. That’s Singapore’s image in the world….(and not forgetting the cliched Fine City nickname) But that’s not 100% true.

Took this pix somewhere near [tag]Paya Lebar MRT[/tag]. I was there to get to the shop that produces the customised mugger mugs that we made for Teachers’ Day (look previous entry).
To me vandalism is cool. It’s some sort of an underground arts scene. However perhaps the graffiti artists here ain’t good enough yet. They are just simply spraying some designs with black spray. I wanna see more creative design and more use of colours. Btw, is there a legal graffiti place in Singapore where artists just simply spray their talents out?

Oh..and took this pix too on the way to the mugs shop….Some digging work for the new MRT line going on….Real deep….and am amazed at the engineering feat…

Diary,
Students' Council
Finally it’s over. I can finally breath some fresh air after [tag]Teachers’ Day[/tag] celebration. I thought organising Teachers’ Day is easy, considering the fact that I’ve done it before in Malaysia while I was Assistant Head Prefect 2 years back. Besides the event is just a few hours event….Some small scale event by my standard…But how wrong can I be…
In Malaysian schools, there’s no such thing as writing proposal for events. It’s just meetings to discuss what to do and then execute. Here, we have to discuss with our committee members, put those thoughts into paper, gain teachers’ approval before executing the plan. We did 3 proposals and at the end of 3 drafts we were just plain tired. Time was not on our side and we had to rush through almost everything.
Things are not as smooth flowing as it was supposed to be. In Malaysia I had many students eager to perform on Teachers’ Day. Too many till we had to cut out many performances, but over here, it’s hard to get students to perform. We approached the CCA groups a little too late and they couldn’t help us out cause they got themselves involved in some other service learning concert a few days earlier and they did not want to tax their members.
Anyway, on the concert itself we managed to secure a talented students dance group and a performance by the English teachers helped save the day. And not to mention, the great response we had from playing Charades in a big crowd. I’m simply amazed that the crowd responded well.
Although there are many glitches here and there, I’m really happy that everyone laughed, cheered and clapped during our event. It shows that the students are having a good time and it means that we are doing something right.
Too bad I couldn’t get any photos of the event in the school hall. Was too busy running around sorting things out….Anyway, for teachers’ gifts, just like what I’ve done in Malaysia 2 years back, I gave the idea that we should give the teachers a mug as their teachers’ day gift. This is the one part that I enjoyed the most. Searching for supplier on the internet, calling supplier, designing the mug, going down to the supplier’s office…..
This is my final design….

Anyway, this was supposed the design that was supposed to be printed on the mugs…I think students in Singapore will understand the joke, but Malaysians might not be able to get it….It’s down to the fact that my JC, AJC is very widely known as a [tag]mugger school[/tag]

I was tagged by VHanded to do this a long time ago…Sorry ya….Too busy to do…Finally doing this….This is my last tag from various bloggers…….Now let me crack my brain on some random facts bout me…
1. I dream of owning my own Google
One thing I know about myself is I don’t wanna work be some worker working for a boss…I wanna be my own boss…..N I wanna be filthy rich at that too….Google just amazes me…The rate of growth of Google is just tremendous…They made their two co-founders billionaires in like less than a decade!
2. I dream of dating a tall girl
Nah some random stuff….I find tall girls fascinating…Well who don’t right? Damn it. I should have been taller…Stopped growing taller in late Form 1/early Form 2…If only I’ve continued growing taller till like Form 5….
3. Evanescence, Eminem, Limp Bizkit songs are my de-stressed songs
I like the songs from these artists….It just lifts up my spirit when I’m down….Perhaps I should add 2 Malaysian local bands into the list – Disagree and Pop Shuvit….I’d realised Pop Shuvit has very similar music style as with Limp Bizkit…As for which is my best. Evanescence is the most effective….The hard rock songs really clears head! Oh btw, do u know evanescence means quickly fading away?
4. I want my Ferrari
Watching Formula 1 has its adverse effects. It makes me dream of owning a Ferrari. No other upclass car except a Ferrari…When can I get enough money to buy my Ferrari?
5. I want to earn my money now to stop studying
Yeap you read me right….I’m just plain sick of studying. Studying for A-levels in Singapore sux big time….It ain’t easy. I think doing STPM Form 6 probably easier…n definitely less stressful…Though the best is just to go some private college in KL/PJ and then surely u have a rockefella time…..
6. I love eating and sleeping
That’s the best thing that I look forward to everyday. Whenever I have free time, my online time with my laptop is next to heaven…Eat and Sleep is also the idea that Bryan n me had previously for some t-shirts….But then we went to different parts of the country for studies…Now the plan seems dead…..I need some time to revive the plan again…But no time over here for anything la….
7. My new hobby is bloghopping
I didn’t know bloghopping can be that fun…..It’s really my new hobby….To just go around blogs n reading it….Lotsa interesting posts can be found at Petaling Street and Ping.sg
8. I’m constantly thinking of new business ideas
I’m trying to stop studying…I don’t even mind not going university….or at least postponing the plan to go uni….I just need a long break from studies…Was supposed to get the long break after SPM but then gotta come Singapore to go junior college (JC)
Anyway, if I can show my parents I can make a good few thousand bucks per month I’m so gonna tell them I wanna take a break from studying to concentrate on business…The problem now is nothing is earning me that much money yet….
I still like the T-shirt idea that I have at the back of my head….But cost of producing t-shirts here in Singapore kinda high….Malaysia can get cheaper….But then again….can sell higher price in Singapore….I need time to make some sales pitch to get some confirmed orders before I can go to my t-shirt vendor to make order…..

Diary
Again I’m back late from school. 9 pm I left school. What the flower….
Had rehearsal for Teachers’ Day. I am in the planning committee under Students’ Council….Weird thing Singapore celebrate Teachers’ Day so late…I remembered Malaysia we used to celebrate around 16 May….
A few more days of hard work then no more Teachers’ Day work. The event is on this Monday, 27th August. After that, one more week of school then it’s ah-lee-loo-ya!!! It’s holiday time!
And I’m seriously looking forward to coming back home! Can’t wait to watch Astro again. And meet up with all my friends back in Malaysia. And the most important part of all. Run away from the stress & hustle n bustle of Singapore’s life…
But my final year promos exams are coming up. I must get an average of C grades for all subjects to stay here. Else MOE will send me home….N btw to my Malaysian secondary school readers, u think getting C very easy in Singapore ah? Must struggle n study a lot to get C ok…Most people fail k…. in Malaysia, getting A is kinda easy….It’s like a must to get A else real lousy…Here A really got value….

Diary
It’s starting again. I’m starting to do late days again. I thought after my float I don’t need to stay back very late in school to finish up project. But I’m doing it again. Today I left school only at 9pm. Reached hostel at 9.45pm.
Reason? Had some discussion regarding the Teachers’ Day celebration that we are planning next Monday. It’s just these next few days that’s gonna be hectic for me. After that, hopefully it’s gonna be short days again. I wanna go back early n take my afternoon nap.
Exam’s coming. Everyone’s studying! But I’m still slacking around. Ok gtg already. Tomorrow gotta get up real early to get to school early for some event. 6.15 reporting time at school! I’m waking up at 5! Bye! ARGH!
